Logistics Manager £38-45,000 Depending on experience +bonus
International Process Industry
You will be an experienced Logistics manager who is happy in a multi tasking role and must have experience of working in a heavy or process industry
Manage the Yard and Logistics personnel (20 employees) including training, health and safety, recruitment, appraisals, discipline etc
Previous experience within a heavy industrial environment, preferably metals, chemical or recycling would be ideal
· Management of weighbridge for receipts and despatches, including the control of associated documentation.
· Control of stocks including regular stocktakes and movement of goods and stock materials.
· Manage day to day running of ancillary departments (Hygiene, waste processing plant and storage facilities)
· Responsible for all department H&S including writing and implementation of SWMs, training and hazard reporting.
· Logistics Manager will manage the maintenance and compliance of site vehicles and mobile plant; minimising downtime and expenditure.
· Control all aspects of site security including the management of the contracted security services.
· Booking and management of international, imports/exports.
· General housekeeping
· Any other duties as appropriate
Logistics / Planning
·Manage the transport for goods in / out
·Liaise with, and ensure a smooth interface with, company suppliers and customers on a daily basis.
·Monitor, control and report on department P&L expenditure. (Including ensuring appropriate headcount and payroll costs, consumable costs etc.).
·Set departmental objectives and targets making use of KPIs.
·Health, Safety & Training:
·Ensure appropriate Health & Safety procedures and Safe Working Methods are generated, actioned and documented within the department.
·Ensure that all personnel in the department (including agency, contractors and visitors) are compliant with the above procedures and SWMs (including initial training, refresher training, near miss reporting, analysis and follow up).
·Produce monthly management reports
·Ensure that senior management are kept aware of all notable events and issues as and when they arise

Qualifications/Experience
·Previous experience within a heavy industrial environment, preferably metals, chemical or recycling.
·Previous experience in a similar role.
·Experience of Environmental Management – specifically EPR / IED regulations (Environmental Permitting Regulations and Industrial Emissions Directive) and control of waste material.
·Good working knowledge of Hazardous waste consignment notes and TFS etc
·Knowledge and experience of ADR
·Previous experience as a DGSA would be an advantage but not essential
·Import / Export knowledge.
·Experience of weighbridge control and operation.
·CPC and WAMITAB desirable but not essential
·Experience of operating various vehicles, from HGV Class 1, excavators to FLT.
·Excellent Microsoft Office Skills
