Finance Officer-Part Time

Reporting to: Finance Director
This is a part time role and You will carry out a range of finance tasks, financial reporting, overseeing accounting operations, and ensuring legal compliance. The main duties will include accounts payable and accounts receivable processing and reconciliations, banking transactions, payroll, and processing of employee expenses.

£27,300 per annum for 37.5 hours pro rata for 22.5 hours- £16,300
Part Time, 3 days a week (22.5 Hours per week)
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Sage Cloud Payroll
· To be responsible for the preparation and management of payments and HMRC PAYE.
· To be responsible for the administration of Pension contributions via NEST.
· To administer holiday, sickness & toil records of staff.
· To ensure time sheets are completed by staff.
2. Sage Cloud accounts
· This covers all journal transactions, input of costs via Purchase Ledger and making payments,
· Raising sales invoices and allocations of cash receipts.
· Bank reconciliations.
· VAT returns.
· Update various SharePoint files.
· Update and reconcile Project Cost Sheets for individual projects.
· Finance report.
· Administer business card account.
· Pay cash into post office and send cheques to bank.
· Ensure float in safe has enough change for events.
· Make up floats for events.
· Administer petty cash account.
3. To update Charity Commission & Companies House with change of trustee details.
4. Completion of monthly and periodic grant claims.
5. To provide financial information and analyses to Finance Director & Chair.

Finance Officer
Qualified by experience
A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a similar role.
Or
MAAT, AAT level 4 qualification, or above, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar role.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE
Experience of an online book-keeping system and an online payroll system.
Experience of using Sage payroll and accounting software.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts, with the ability to interpret and apply complex financial data.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and an ability to use an email system is essential.
Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy, integrity and efficiency,
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information.

Travel to work from Ebbw Vale, Abertillery, Newbridge, Brynmawr, Abergavenny, Cross Keys, Blackwood, Tredegar.
