Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Management Accountant will be responsible for developing the
monthly management accounts. Allowing the senior management team to assess the performance of the business
and set business KPI’s and targets in line with performance and financial KPI’s.
Working closely with all internal departments, information sharing and ensuring accuracy of data, particularly within
SAGE.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop monthly management accounts in a timely manner and meeting set timelines, where applicable.
• Update and analyse the accuracy of the fixed asset register with additional assets and monthly depreciation.
• A clean debtors ledger with minimal negative debt write off.
• Creation of BOMs on Sage and checking the accuracy existing BOMs periodically.
• Responsible for developing new product codes, new customers and suppliers within Sage and clearly marking
inactive ones.
• Liaising with annual external financial auditors and acting as the lead host at the year end audit.
• Production of annual statutory accounts.
• Review and raise all supplier payments.
• Any other adhoc duties as required to support the business needs.
• Assist with payroll by making payments to HMRC for PAYE/NIC and for pension contributions.
• Processing VAT returns.
• Processing expenditure requests.
• Support the Accounts Assistants where necessary.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
• X5 GCSE grades A*-C (or equivalent qualification), Mathematics and English is essential.
• AAT qualified and/or CIMA or ACCA part qualified (working towards qualification)
• Fully proficient user of Microsoft Office particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
• Fully proficient user of SAGE is preferable.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders at all levels both verbal and written.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects/ tasks at one time.
• Self-motivator and a team player. With the ability to work on own initiative when required.
• Experience of partaking in external audits.
Ideally you will be ACCA/CIMA qualified or working towards. You might also be in the last year of AAT.
Preferably, you will come from a Manufacturing or similar Industry.
