Manufacturing Engineer £32,000 - £35,000 + Bonus + excellent Benefits package

Caerphilly area South Wales
An excellent opportunity for an Engineer with a few years’ experience of working in an Engineering or Manufacturing organization.
Training available as required
Engineering Qualification, Apprentice trained, HNC or Degree
You must have the legal right to work in the UK without Company Sponsorship
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP):
Maintain the SOP database.
Compile build sequence and production intent SOP for assembly.
Compile resales SOP if required.
Update SOP in line with our PCR (Product Change Request).
Issue control of SOP into production.
Create Temporary Work Instructions for temporary process updates.
Packaging Specification:
Design cost effective packaging solutions - Durable / expendable.
Compile Packaging Specification with each SOP.
Compile Packaging Specification for Resale Items.
PCR (Product Change Request):
Manufacturing representative within the PCR team.
Apply a structured approach to introducing PCR actions.
Manage each PCR action checklist with any manufacturing updates.
Maintain PFMEA database with required PCR updates.
Torque Calibration:
Co-ordinate torque tool maintenance & repair.
Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA):
Conduct PFMEA to our Bergstrom standard and maintain severity above 7 target.
Maintain PFMEA database.
Generate process flow documentation.
Generate APQP documentation for PPAP submission.
Manufacturing Drawings:
Detail assembly fixture drawings using AutoCAD software.
Detail assembly line drawings / layouts.
Maintain the factory layout drawings.
Maintain assembly cell / line layouts.
Production Support:
Main point of contact for assembly / manufacturing issues.
Provide day to day production support.
Specify Poke Yoke assembly jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
Maintain Health & Safety standards in line with legislation.
Provide manufacturing support to QA.
Provide manufacturing support to QA during customer audits & BMS internal audits.
Maintain back up stock of tooling and spares via Max/Min Kanban system.
Required skills
Ability to use AutoCAD 2D would be an advantage.
Ability to use Microsoft Office packages (especially Excel).
Able to demonstrate that they can conduct PFMEA / Process Flow / APQP process.
A strong ability to work with IT systems and be familiar with PC based software.
Mechanical qualification is desirable.
Electrical experience would be an advantage but not essential.
Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritise workload accordingly.
Travel to work from; Pontypridd, Merthyr, Pontypool, Blackwood, Ebbw Vale, Cwmbran
