A rare opportunity to join a leading South Wales manufacturer that is part of a Global group
Managing operational activities including Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, Shipping, Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance in line with the organisations business strategy and objectives. Ensuring business processes are adhered to with a strong focus on Health & Safety, Quality, Environment and Operational Efficiency.
Working with subordinates to ensure Key Performance Indicators are achieved through Continuous Improvement Strategy and Action Plans.
Purchasing
Oversee the business Supplier Management objectives for supplier development, cost reduction and manufacturing optimisation.
Production
Ensure business strategy for production is deployed effectively.
Warehouse
Liaising with the Warehouse Supervisor and Team Leader ensure business processes for goods receiving, stock holding, and stock control are maintained with high focus on 5-S and correct material handling and storage.
Shipping
Ensure business process for shipping goods is maintained and improved upon. Ensure good 5-S principles within the shipping yard with a high focus on Health & Safety working practices.
Health & Safety
Overall responsibility for Health & Safety within the Factory working with Health & Safety Officer .
Environmental
Ensure the company’s EMS (Environmental Management System) is followed within the factory.
Manufacturing Engineering & Maintenance
Work with Manufacturing Services Manager to ensure adequate support to production and warehouse areas. Ensure factory layout and material flow meets customer demand and expectations.
Drive Continuous Improvement of production line through optimisation of technology.
New Product Introduction
Ensure business NPI Production Readiness Program is maintained and effective in terms of NPI Pilot Build, Pre- build and Start of Production.
Key driver of change within the business and deploy business Key Performance Indicators to groups ensuring action plans are worked upon to improve where necessary. Focus on PQVC (People, Quality, Velocity, Cost)
This is a brief overview of duties
Experience
Graduate preferably within Engineering discipline or Business Management but with engineering experience.
Automotive \ Manufacturing Experience would be great
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma or similar disciplines.
Some experience of polyurethane moulding, and general production assembly incorporating flow line or cell-based manufacturing principles.
Travel to work from; Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Cwmbran, Abergavenny, Bridgend, Ebbw Vale, Merthyr
