You must have strong Mechanical Design Engineering experience for this role, and you will work at the South Wales manufacturing plant.
Reporting to: Lead Engineer, the Design Engineer will be required to;
Prepare design concepts for new products.
Produce engineering designs for new product using appropriate CAD tools.
Liaise with Customer engineering representatives on design issues.
Participate in the engineering aspects of Cost Reduction Programs.
Conduct Engineering changes to existing products.
Person Specification
Specific Qualifications:
Preferably a Degree in Mechanical Engineering which has encompassed the subjects of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
Design Engineers with an alternative qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and some relevant experience will be considered for the position.
Previous Work Experience:
Experience of working within an automotive industry is desirable but not essential.
Specific Knowledge / Skills Competence:
You will have gained over three years’ experience in a similar permanent role.
CAD experience, PTC CREO (Pro Engineer) is an advantage but not essential.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of HVAC systems and Components is an advantage but not essential.
Experience in design of Injection Moulded Components is an advantage but not essential.
Experience of FEA is an advantage but not essential.
Experience of CFD is an advantage but not essential.
Experience of DFMEA is an advantage but not essential.

Working Hours:
