Quality Engineer £32-36,000 + +benefits

Actively participate and lead the operational management of the quality function within this growing International Company. For this exceptional opportunity you will be an experienced Quality Engineer, with strong leadership skills gained within manufacturing industry. Experience gained in the Automotive or similar industry would be ideal.


  • Manage customer complaints process and drive the closure of all issues. (Through use of 8D + 5WHY Problem Solving tools)

  • Establish customer review meetings to discuss issues proactively.

  • Generate and implement Product Quality Control Plans/Inspection standards

  • Establish customer agreed product quality standards and implement with appropriate functions

  • Compile Customer key performance indicators and metrics

  • Provide team leadership for product quality improvement programs.

  • Maintain Customer Concern Database

  • Completion of Internal audit program

  • Develop reaction plans for containment of identified issues

  • Maintain awareness of all customer requirements, issues and current status for operators, team leaders and production management.

  • Production, education and support for continuous improvement, 8D ownership and completion.

  • Development awareness of purchasing & sales departments, knowledge of customer quality requirements both in NPI and current product.

  • Active participant in the management of ISO 9001:2008 (ISO 9001:2015)

  • Conduct internal audits as required to agreed schedules

  • Verify the conformity of product quality to agreed standards (I.e., through product/process audits)

  • Active participant in NPI projects with an emphasis on all QA activities to include: APQP, -ISIR/PPAP

APQP/PPAP – Support project activities

  • Development of Quality Management system to transition to ISO 9001:2015 standard requirements

  • To engage in any continuous improvement initiatives as considered appropriate and necessary.

  • Experience of working within a Quality department operating at management level. Essential – Working within a manufacturing environment Demonstrate full knowledge of required quality processes and procedures

  • Excellent understanding of ISO/TS including PPAP, APQP

  • Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques

  • Excellent computer skills and competent in developing and using a PC and associated networks and systems to acquire, manipulate and disseminate information

  • Good organisational and Time Management skills

  • Ability to lead and develop project teams

An Engineering qualification, Mechanical or Electrical would be an advantage

  • Travel to work from Ebbw Vale, Newport, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Cwmbran, Pontypridd. Senior Quality Engineers welcome to apply, salary will reflect experience
