Leading UK Environmental Consultancy
The post will involve working across a range of development sectors, but will be predominantly focused on Waste and Recycling, Minerals and Energy.
Responsible to: Principal Environmental Consultant / Environmental Director
Post Objective: Provision of Environmental Compliance and Technical project support
Principle Responsibilities:
1. Undertake the preparation (and manage coordination) of Environmental Permit Applications (including variations, transfers and surrenders) for resource management and other industrial/commercial activities, including liaison with relevant internal project teams and external organisations.
2. Assist with the preparation of Planning Applications and Environmental Impact Assessments including liaison with the relevant internal project teams and external organisations.
3. To provide the company and its client’s, with advice and support in respect of environmental permitting and compliance policy and legislative related matters.
4. To prepare or assist as appropriate in the preparation of other technical reports and environmental assessment documents pertinent to the clients’ requirements. These could include, for example, Air Quality Assessments, Noise Assessments, Geological and Hydrogeological Assessments, and could be for a range of development proposals.
5. To assist other teams within the Company and the associated Group of Companies in respect of waste & recycling, minerals and energy development advice, environmental report preparation and project management.
6. Assist with the organisation and supervision of environmental technical assessments and/or investigations, relating to waste & recycling, minerals and energy developments including in or ex-situ testing where required.
7. To assist with identification, development and secure business opportunities relating to all aspects of the Company and the associated group of companies activities. To assist in all other aspects of Business Development including tender bids, marketing and client relationship management.
8. Any other duties of a similar nature which may be assigned from time to time.
Applications are therefore sought from candidates that are numerate, with competent and efficient report writing skills considered essential. Proven skills in undertaking qualitative and quantitative geological/hydrogeological risk assessments, hydrological risk assessments and/or landfill gas risk assessment would be advantageous.
The position is very much a forward-facing role and the successful candidate will be required to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, with project management of colleagues as may be required, along with working under their own initiative, in a dynamic fast changing environment.
We are therefore seeking a candidate who is a minimum of degree qualified in an appropriate environmental/engineering field and has seven or more years’ experience working within a relevant sector.
