A rare opportunity to join a leading South Wales manufacturer that is part of a Global group. Site based newly created role, may suit an experienced Manufacturing Engineer

The Value Engineer will report directly to the Financial Controller. Working cross-functionally, the Value Engineer will be responsible for all product costing and value engineering activities.

You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in similar role within the manufacturing industry.

Specific Responsibilities

• Direct cost engineering functions for new and current products

• Coordinate costing functions for all products

• Create costed engineering Bill of Material (BOM) for comparisons

• Provide costing analysis across project and product life cycle

• Prepare cost estimates for new and existing products

• Ensure accuracy and measurability for product target costs

• Build and maintain a database of existing costs for future costing estimates

• Participate in Request For Quote (RFQ) for supplier quotations

• Review system BOM for correctness and apply labour and overhead rates

• Prepare make versus buy cost analysis

• Participate in purchasing research for new product design

• Participate in design research for manufacturability

• Direct Design for Assembly for all products

• Continually review procedures for process improvements

Qualifications and Experience

Engineering / Business / Finance Degree or relevant work experience

Cost/Value Engineering Experience

Manufacturing Experience
