A rare opportunity to join a leading South Wales manufacturer that is part of a Global group. Site based newly created role, may suit an experienced Manufacturing Engineer
The Value Engineer will report directly to the Financial Controller. Working cross-functionally, the Value Engineer will be responsible for all product costing and value engineering activities.
You will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in similar role within the manufacturing industry.
Specific Responsibilities
Direct cost engineering functions for new and current products
Coordinate costing functions for all products
Create costed engineering Bill of Material (BOM) for comparisons
Provide costing analysis across project and product life cycle
Prepare cost estimates for new and existing products
Ensure accuracy and measurability for product target costs
Build and maintain a database of existing costs for future costing estimates
Participate in Request For Quote (RFQ) for supplier quotations
Review system BOM for correctness and apply labour and overhead rates
Prepare make versus buy cost analysis
Participate in purchasing research for new product design
Participate in design research for manufacturability
Direct Design for Assembly for all products
Continually review procedures for process improvements

Qualifications and Experience
Engineering / Business / Finance Degree or relevant work experience
Cost/Value Engineering Experience
Manufacturing Experience
Microsoft Office
Travel to work from; Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Cwmbran, Abergavenny, Bridgend, Ebbw Vale, Merthyr
